Using a referral code is the easiest way to begin your journey with a head start. New recruits who sign up with a code instantly receive a UEC bonus to kick off their time in the verse — and the recruiter earns recruitment points once the recruit becomes an active player.
Star Citizen uses several currencies that are easy to mix up. UEC (United Earth Credits) is the primary currency of the persistent universe. aUEC is the alpha version used for in-game testing and is periodically reset. REC (Rental Equipment Credits) are earned in Arena Commander to rent ships and gear. Store Credit is real-money balance on the pledge store.
